EN : New additional dates to SELECTED EVENTS TOUR 2011 !

Having completed a hugely successful year in 2010 with some outstanding events across Europe, North & South America, Recoil’s ‘Selected Events’ tour returns this year with some additional performances across Europe.
Now, Alan is bringing the updated version of ‘A Strange Hour’ once again to several new European cities. If you missed the presentations last time out, now is your chance to catch up, with perhaps one or two further changes and definitely some special guests.

As usual, Alan should also be available for meet & greet signing sessions after the performances at each event.

After the BTTP festival in Manchester with Gary Numan & Motor, the new shows continue on in Vilnius, Lithuania at Forum Palace on Tuesday 10th May and in Ventspils, Latvia at The Centre of Performing Arts – “Juras Varti” on Wednesday 11th May.

Says Alan: “Last year was a lot of fun and very different for me to be out on the road so much. Even so, there were places which we never got to for one reason or another and now we have a chance to fill in those gaps, which is why I’m delighted to add a few more events. We have the unusual Mute night to prepare for (with maybe a surprise or two) and then these extra dates in cities I have never visited before. I’m very excited to be visiting both Lithuania and Latvia. We also hope to add some more events over the coming weeks.”

Go to www.dmtvarchives.com to enjoy a special DVD release from the Television Archives series – ‘Recoil Selected’.
Originally intended as a web-only feature in support of Recoil’s ‘Selected’ album, the project evolved as more TV footage became available, and the TV Archives team were able to create something unique – a kind of Recoil retrospective in Alan’s own words.
Says Alan: “Over the years since the Recoil project began, I have conducted many interviews all over the world for various TV shows and other outlets. I hope you enjoy this collection of appearances which spans 20 years and documents the many changes along the way. From my own point of view, it’s perfect to have these rarities gathered in one place.”
These clips follow the story from the most recent ‘Selected Events’ report from Bratislava only 3 weeks ago, all the way back to the promotion of ‘Faith Healer’/'Bloodline’ in March 1992. Though the footage quality varies we are happy that you, the fans, preserved your old VHS tapes and shared them. Further, all teasers commissioned for the ‘Selected’ album and tour promotion have been added, as well as additional bonus material.
For full details and download links, go to www.dmtvarchives.com. Cover artwork and special insert booklet is available there as well, and there is also a new ‘solo’ section at the site to cater for possible future releases.

End of the Recoil Tour, with a special cinematic event for the last concert

For the very final presentation of ‘A Strange Hour’, Alan and the Recoil team have decided to install an extra large, fully professional cinema screen & projector at the newly-renovated venue ‘Szikra’ in Budapest. The screen will measure a giant 8 x 5 meters and will cover the entire stage area. The performance is also planned to be filmed using multi-cameras and the latest high-definition technology in order to capture the event in its full glory. How and when ‘A Strange Hour’ will be released is yet to be determined but you can be sure that at some stage, you will see the culmination of a year’s work made available on some kind of DVD/Blu-ray format, perhaps as part documentary or maybe as a concert film.
There are still a few tickets available for this final show on Saturday – if you’re nearby and the snow doesn’t get you, try to come along and be a part of this unique one-off spectacle. We expect ‘A Strange Hour’ to look and sound particularly special on this evening.
Mátyás Milkovics from Hungarian band Neo will also be joining the event to play an acoustic set, and later Alan, Paul and the whole team will be around to celebrate the end of the tour with the fans, and there will various DJs keeping the evening going until late. DO NOT miss this one!
A message from Alan: “It’s been an incredible year with many many ups and only a couple of minor ‘downs’ due to some travel chaos. Without fail, audiences have been warm and appreciative everywhere. To get out there again and put so many faces to names has been a real highlight – much more enjoyable than I could ever have imagined. Thank you so much for all the encouragement and good vibes – it’s been emotional. Let’s hope we can do it again soon.”
