EN : Mute special event / TV archives DVD release

Some of you will already be aware that Mute will host 2 days: 13th -14th May 2011 – at London’s historic Roundhouse as part of the annual Short Circuit Electronic Music Festival.
Featuring performances and collaborations from Mute artists past, present and future alongside talks, workshops, screenings and installations, the occasion will celebrate Mute’s unique and influential work as a label. Many plans are afoot including Recoil’s involvement most probably on the night of 13th May.
Tickets went on sale from Friday 3rd December and include a limited premium ticket, which will give access to both Mute days, entry to an exclusive aftershow party, as well as specifically created Mute objects that will only be available with this ticket.
Tickets are available from The Roundhouse and are priced as follows:
Fri 13th May – £30 (6 pm-1 am)
Sat 14th May – £45 (12 pm-12 am)
Fri & Sat – £65
Limited Premium Ticket – £100
Go to www.dmtvarchives.com to enjoy a special DVD release from the Television Archives series – ‘Recoil Selected’.
Originally intended as a web-only feature in support of Recoil’s ‘Selected’ album, the project evolved as more TV footage became available, and the TV Archives team were able to create something unique – a kind of Recoil retrospective in Alan’s own words.
Says Alan: “Over the years since the Recoil project began, I have conducted many interviews all over the world for various TV shows and other outlets. I hope you enjoy this collection of appearances which spans 20 years and documents the many changes along the way. From my own point of view, it’s perfect to have these rarities gathered in one place.”
These clips follow the story from the most recent ‘Selected Events’ report from Bratislava only 3 weeks ago, all the way back to the promotion of ‘Faith Healer’/'Bloodline’ in March 1992. Though the footage quality varies we are happy that you, the fans, preserved your old VHS tapes and shared them. Further, all teasers commissioned for the ‘Selected’ album and tour promotion have been added, as well as additional bonus material.
For full details and download links, go to www.dmtvarchives.com. Cover artwork and special insert booklet is available there as well, and there is also a new ‘solo’ section at the site to cater for possible future releases.
Finally, thank you once again to everyone who came to experience ‘A Strange Hour’ during 2010 and for all your continued support. Everyone at Recoil headquarters wishes you all a Merry Xmas and the very best of luck for 2011!
